The Warsaw Rising Museum (Muzeum Powstania Warszawskiego) is seated in buildings of a former tram power plant at Przyokopowa Street 28. The power plant was built in the years 1904 - 1908 within a land plot at the corner of Grzybowska and Przyokopowa streets, facing Przyokopowa street, in the immediate vicinity of Towarowa Street , one of the main roads of Warsaw. The Warsaw Rising Museum is located at 79 Grzybowska Street, entrance from Przyokopowa Street.
Within an area of approximately 1800 m2 the Warsaw Rising Museum houses an exhibition displaying a wealth of information, photographs, texts and films. This exhibition depicts history of the Warsaw Rising as comprehensively as possible. It attempts to explain complexity of events related to the Rising – occupation, international situation, establishing an illegal centre of communist authority in Lublin and the fate of insurgents in the People’s Republic of Poland (PRL). Various audiovisual and multimedia communication techniques have been applied in the Museum. The youngest visitors are encouraged to visit the Little Insurgent’s Room, where under the supervision of well trained caretakers they can build a barricade or send a letter using the Field Postal Service.
