Carmelite Church is a common name for the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary and of St. Joseph (in Polish: Kosciol Wniebowziecia NMP i sw. Jozefa Oblubienca). The church took its present appearance at the end of the 17th century, however its great neoclassical-style façade was built in the 18th century. Carmelite Church is best known for its twin belfries shaped like censers. The interior features magnificent rococo main altar as well as gilded and stucco ceiling decorations. It is here where Fryderyk Chopin was invited to give a recital on the church organ.
