The Warsaw Chamber Opera has, since 1991 – that Year of Mozart commemorated throughout the world – honoured the composer’s memory with an annual festival in his name. Presented year upon year are all the stage works by Mozart, as well as numerous oratorial, symphonic and chamber works from the rich repertoire of the genius from Salzburg, of which the selection is altered each year.
The opera programme incorporates all of his stage works, including the three da Ponte collaborations - Le nozze di Figaro, Don Giovanni and Così fan tutte (which opens the festival this year) - as well as the two operas from Mozart's last year, La clemenza di Tito and Die Zauberflöte.
